Hello!

I'm having a wonderful day today! Just thought that I would post an update before buckling down on some homework.
I just changed my major to Apparel Merchandising with a minor in business; I was majoring in pre-pharmacy, but I decided I couldn't handle all of those nasty upper-level science courses, and who wants to administer drugs all day, anyway? I want to open a cute little clothing boutique. I'm very happy with my decision.

Actually, since I don't have to make an A in my chemistry class now (because I'm no longer a science major) I think I may just watch my new favorite TV show, NBC's Perfect Couples (http://www.hulu.com/perfect-couples) on Hulu! I don't watch TV very much at all, but when I do, it's usually this show, the Food Network, or HGTV.

You should watch it; it's absolutely adorable! Two of my best friends got me into it, and now we've all chosen couples that are the most similar to us. We have so much fun watching the show and making fun of ourselves and our own relationships. My guy and I "are" Rex and Leigh, the couple on the far left. They're the one that's "too perfect," completely head-over-heels for each other, and they got that way by going to a couples therapist and using relationship self-help books. My friends often see my relationship with Boyfriend as perfect (although it's far from it!), so it's very fun to watch the show and get a caricature of what my friends see us as. I didn't think Boyfriend would like the show, since he's Mr. Macho Man and it's a show about relationships, but I had him watch it with me and he LOVES it and now references it all the time.

The last thing I want to talk about today is something unusual: Greek life at Southern colleges. Recently, a non-Greek woman at my university wrote an article for the school newspaper complaining about the way that Greeks dress. I was mildly irritated, but only because she made absolutely no mention of some of the horrible fashion mistakes you see independents in on our campus. Well, the Greek community made a big ol' to-do out of it, and then the non-Greeks made a to-do about the Greeks making a to-do about it, and it was just one big nasty mess. The clothing choices this woman was complaining about were visors and Costa del Mar sunglasses among our fine fraternity men, and leggings with big t-shirts and "frockets" seen on our lovely sorority women. It was all quite amusing, and I was a bit offended since I do wear these things, simply because 1) it's super comfortable for long days of classes and 2) I don't care if I look "like everyone else," at least I know I'll be accepted. It was just a very interesting thing though, that everyone got so mad at everyone else over something as silly as clothes. Yes, I love the Greek community here at my school, and I like the way we dress, but it's no big deal.
Do what you love, love what you do. <3
If you're reading this, I hope you have a fabulous day, stay classy, and God bless!
